Gas Detection

Fixfire offers a complete range of gas detection systems from self-contained gas detectors to centrally controlled systems for complete buildings.

Self-contained Detectors

Fixfire offers self-contained gas detectors in battery only, mains only, or combined mains with battery backup versions.

The most common self-contained gas detector we supply is for the detection of carbon monoxide. Carbon monoxide is a potential killer. It is a poisonous gas that is colourless, odourless and tasteless. Exposure to low levels of carbon monoxide can lead to headaches and nausea. High levels can cause death within minutes.

We also offer self-contained gas detectors for the detection of propane and methane.

Self-contained gas detectors can be configured to provide a signal to other ancillary systems/equipment to raise the alert in the event of activation.

Gas Detection Systems

Fixfire installs gas detection systems in all kinds of applications – examples of completed installations include a carbon monoxide gas detection system installed throughout a Blue Chip state of the art automotive vehicle design centre, an engine test cell complex for an international automotive company and throughout a large waste to energy plant.

Fixfire offers a full range of gas sensors primarily for personnel protection against toxic, flammable and asphyxiate gases. To complement the range of gas sensors, we offer a range of alarm indicator panels including advanced multi-sensor addressable systems designed for larger installations.

Gases we can detect include the following:

Toxic Gases

Oxygen, Carbon Monoxide, Hydrogen Sulphide, Sulphur Dioxide, Nitrogen Oxide, Nitrogen Dioxide, Chlorine, Hydrogen, Hydrogen Cyanide, Hydrogen Chloride, Ammonia, Ozone, Ethylene Oxide, Phosphine and Carbon Dioxide.

Flammable Gases

Hydrogen, Methane, Ethane, Propane, Butane, Pentane.
