Hayes Wharf comprises 3 blocks of student accommodation with 2 of the buildings sub-divided into 2 blocks each. Block A stands alone with 9 floors of accommodation, while the other two buildings make up Blocks B & C, D & E, each having accommodation across 4 floors.

Fixfire® upgraded the existing ‘closed-protocol’ Fire Alarm System serving the communal areas to a Category L2 System covering all student rooms and shared kitchens. The existing fire alarm control panel was replaced with a fully ‘Open Protocol’ ADV/Plus range control panel and a further four new control panels were installed in the respective accommodation blocks.The project was undertaken with a carefully planned and structured programme ensuring fire detection systems remained in operation overnight every night throughout the duration of the works. As part of the fire alarm system upgrade, a new Radio Paging Transmitter and five Radio Pagers were supplied to provide staff with instant alerts wherever they may be located around the premises.
