Great Newton Hall comprises a single block of student accommodation sub-divided into four sections. Sections have accommodation over 5 or 6 floors and entrance is gained via a reception area which feeds into a common central courtyard.
Fixfire® supplied and commissioned upgraded Life Safety Systems to enhance Fire Safety precautions within this purpose-built student accommodation scheme. The existing BS5839 mixed part 1/part 6 fire alarm system was upgraded to part 1 category L1 throughout to comply with new requirements imposed by the Local Fire Authority.
This substantial project included supply and installation of another ‘open-protocol’ addressable ZXSe range five loop control panel, new wiring infrastructure and network PCBs. In excess of 811 fire alarm devices were installed on this project, including automatic fire detectors, manual call points and interfaces to ancillary equipment such as lifts.
